Last week at co-op was a fun one!! Pastor Davion lead chapel and talked about being THANKFUL! Very timely heading into this holiday season. We then combined all the classes and used Bamboozle to test everyone’s knowledge on all that they’ve learned all semester long. From Tuttle Twins to Kid-preneurship, and more, we were so proud of all the students remembered and took away from the semester. We the wrapped up the day with our last Creative Innovation class of the year with an egg drop challenge. Students had to get creative with their supplies and build a protective structure around their egg before it was dropped from a ladder!

We were having too much fun last week and we forgot to share our recap, and it’s one we won’t soon forget! In Chapel Pastor Kelley wrapped up our series on “The Table”, we practiced our Christmas Carols with Mrs. Rebekah, developed our Business Plans in Kid-preneurship, and wrapped up our day with a fun Lego building challenge.

Mrs. Terrie’s class even got to participate in their own “market” to spend money that they have been earning through hard work at home!

Today at co-op we were reminded of the blessing that is our co-op family! We had several families out for various reasons and we kept going like a well oiled machine thanks to all parents and students who hopped in wherever they were needed.

In chapel, Mrs. Carrie shared the story of the biggest picnic ever! We read in Matthew how Jesus performed a miracle by feeding over 5,000 people with only fives loaves of bread and two fish, taking with us the reminder that God doesn’t need a lot to do a lot!

Mrs. Rebekah kicked off our first choir practice where we are working on our Christmas carols.🎄Then we joined The Tuttle Twins on an adventure of wonky wages where the students joined Ethan and Emily on a time-travel adventure where they meet Babe Ruth and get acquainted with the possible factors that determine a person’s wages. We wrapped up our day with a tower building challenge where students were given two materials, toothpicks and pumpkin candy corn. The tallest tower still standing at the end of class took the grand prize!

Our co-op had an amazing day at Lil Bit of Life Farm where we got to roll up our sleeves and experience life on the farm firsthand! From giving milk to baby cows and brushing horses to cleaning out animals stalls 💩, and feeding all the animals, the farm school gave our students a fun and hands-on educational day!

We’re so thankful for the warm welcome and incredible learning experience. Days like this are what make co-op memories so special! 💛

Lil' Bit of Life

Today in Chapel we continued our study on “The Table” where we dove into 2 Chronicles and read about the story of Josiah. What a beautiful reminder that you are never too young to change the world! Even from the “kids table” you can be an example of God’s love to others, He can use you no matter how old you are. Thank you Pastor Kelley for another great chapel lesson!

In Kid-preneurship we talked about developing a product that consumers want or need and began drawing prototypes of our business ideas. We can’t wait to participate in a Children’s Entrepreneurship Market next year!

We wrapped up the day with a Creative Innovation lesson called “Pumpkin Chunkin: Catapults & Pom Poms”. We learned about the history and science behind a catapult, designed and tested our own catapults from popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and plastic spoons, and then finally competed in a distance competition.

We continued our chapel series The Table, learned about the Golden Rule in Tuttle Twins, and explored creativity through innovation—ending with a fun domino-building challenge!

WEEK NINE 🎉🎉🎉

We had a jammed packed day but it was full of so much goodness! From thankfulness chains, to learning about how surfboards and waves work, to a science experiment making our own waves, making and testing our own surfboards, and wrapping up with The Tuttle Twins Road to Surfdom… it was busy day but our hearts and minds are so full!

Our first field trip as a co-op is in the books! ✅ Yesterday we took to the streets of Winter Garden to put our kid-preneurship knowledge to work. We visited three amazing local small businesses with even more amazing entrepreneurs running them. The students asked lots of questions, participated in some fun activities, and walked away with more tools in their belt. Thank you to all the local businesses that helped us out today!
