🧪 A Little Science Behind Our Donation Requests...
One of the best parts of what we do is being part of our community. Whether it's a school fundraiser, PTA event, scout program, church festival, or nonprofit celebration, we're honored every time someone thinks of Mad Science.
The downside? We receive a lot of donation requests throughout the year.
If we had a machine that could duplicate scientists, birthday parties, and camp scholarships, we'd happily say "YES!" to every request. Unfortunately, even the Mad Scientists haven't invented that one yet. 😉
Every donation we provide—whether it's a birthday party, camp certificate, workshop, or other experience—comes with real costs. Supplies, instructors, travel, insurance, equipment, and behind-the-scenes planning all add up. As a locally owned small business, we have to make sure we're taking care of our business so we can continue serving our community for years to come.
That's why we set aside a specific donation budget each year. Once it's filled, we're simply not able to take on additional requests. We also rotate the schools and organizations we support so that over time, as many groups as possible have the opportunity to benefit. If we've donated to your organization before, we may not be able to this year. And if we can't help this time, we genuinely hope you'll ask again in the future.
Please know that when we have to decline a request, it's never because we don't believe in your cause. Every organization working to make our community better is doing important work. Sometimes it's simply a matter of timing and limited resources.
The biggest way you can support our ability to give back is by choosing local businesses whenever you can. Every birthday party booked, camp registration, after-school program, and special event helps make future donations possible.
Thank you for thinking of us, for understanding the realities of running a small business, and for helping us inspire the next generation of scientists. Together, we can create some pretty amazing reactions! 🧪✨
