The last pictures from the last Weekend Warrior Course of the 2024/2025 season with the traditional breakfast at Ducks Dam Diner. I had a blast teaching this group. And only 2 escaped without nick-names! LOL. Till next season everyone...... Coach Steve!

What a great end to day one with some campfire popcorn and some great stories around the fire. Day 2 started with our delicious Irish oats with all the fixins.... our edible plants hike, shelter building and more! Supper was roasted squirrel for an appetizer, spicy chicken and rice for our meal and our secret but always loved/well received desert! I'm sad for this season to come to an end, but excited to have an even better upcoming season!

Day one of our last course of the 2024/2025 season. We're off to a great start. 100% success with bamboo fire friction saws today. Everyone is set up and supper, (hobo pouches) are about to go on the fire. Students are out looking for their special sticks now. Iykyk! Lol. Today students learned about edible plants, building shelters, water purification, Signaling for rescue and some basic carving/ tool making. We had a delicious supper of dirty chicken perlo, (spicy chicken and rice) and last skill was making a pine pitch stick. (After our regular desert of course! IYKYK!)

This evening students learned how to make a friction fire set and created a flame from their hard earned ember! The fire was lit by Mr Barry and we all enjoyed a good hot hobo pouch!
