The application period for the Georgia Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program is now open!

Farmers, ranchers, and foresters in eligible counties who experienced losses from Hurricane Helene may apply for assistance through the Georgia Department of Agriculture through April 27, 2026.

2026 UPW Training -
Please read carefully! RSVP to the number listed.

1. As mandated by federal labels, all applicators must hold a private or commercial pesticide applicator license to purchase and apply the restricted use herbicides Engenia, Stryax, and Tavium.
2. Prior to applying these products in 2026, applicators must complete the state specific 2026 UPW classroom training with locations provided below. On-line trainings WILL NOT be available.
3. Those needing pesticide credit but not applying Engenia, Stryax, or Tavium are welcome to attend.
4. Bring your pesticide license; 2 hours of pesticide credit for private or commercial will be provided.
5. The meeting will last about 1.5 hours; NO beverages or meals will be provided.
6. Attendee’s names will be placed on a list posted to the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s auxin website at https://agr.georgia.gov/dicamba.

Topics discussed: Pesticide applicator safety, new dicamba label changes, required record keeping/documentation when applying these herbicides, and fulfilling the new Endangered Species Act (ESA) requirements along with other valuable information.
