Friends and advocates, do not miss this Friday LGBTQI Town Hall at 6pm in Oceanside.
Everyone is invited and food will be provided.
At our Town Hall we share the 2023 impact of our services, we share our challenges navigating through the sea of anti lgbt narratives and, most important, we will tell you about our exciting plans for the future.
Did you want to get involved with the Center as volunteer or future staff members? this is also the place to be! See you there.

Great article today from the UT exposing who is behind the recent forced changed policy at the Academy Charter school that now Escondido school board is also considering. Christian nationalist and their crusades against lgbt youth and families

Unfortunately, our Unicorn Homes State pilot program that aimed to extend the success of our locally founded Unicorn Homes services to a Statewide experience was just vetoed by the Governor because of budget restrictions.
thank you Assemblymember Tasha Boerner for Championing this bill since day one and for believing in our work.
As you mentioned in your response, at the moment there are no state or federal funded programs directly addressing the dynamics of LGBTQI homelessness youth that is close to 40% of the general youth population.
In a year where antilgbt narratives are pushing even more our LGBTQI youth to the margins and make them even more vulnerable to violence we were truly hoping for a break to begin reversing this horrible trend.
Well, we are not giving up. We are coming back next year with our Assemblymember until we get this work recogniced, supported and sustained. ❤️

A bill that would have established a three-year transitional housing pilot program for homeless LGBTQ+ youth in San Diego was vetoed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday.

***A crisis is only a crisis if we make it so.
In the past few days our North Community has continued to show up for our newly arrived immigrants dropped by Border Patrol - and with little warning time- in Oceanside. Last minute call and we have all come to the rescue to minimize the impact of human being seeking safety, refuge and a place to call home. This weekend alone we were able to help dozens of individuals reunify with their families by booking flights, connections and offering some reassurance after weeks of a violent and desperate journey. The violence though did not stopped at the border: many have reported being robbed, cellphones intentionally broken, documents intentionally hidden and other human violation that this side of the border has been also responsible for.
Why we believe it? because the stories match over and over and because we have eye witnessed how the BP intentionally has dropped people even few blocks away from where we were coordinating help with the result of many being lost and isolated.
For those of you that wonder: these are the immigrants you always wanted to follow a legal path in order to come in. These are the immigrants that have been vet and authorized to entry because they might have a case given the violence they have experienced.
Yet, they are often received as criminal, as a threat with the basic human rights not even met. Honestly, at this point, the journey to an “illegal” entry looks more promising and less problematic and even safer for many of them when compared to the way they are “officially” received at our border.
What can you do? share your time, things, smiles, rides and money when you can. We do not disclose publicly the locations because haters have started to show up here and there, they are the vultures that feeds over human desperation. Some like to complains but do nothing, other uses these immigrants as human shield to score their political phrase, others are just in the middle creating chaos.
Reach out to our North County LGBTQ Resource Center to the City of Oceanside - Government, to Interfaith Community Services, Pilgrim_Church and few others that have been at the front line of this response for the past days. Others like Universidad Popular that have also -and long term- assisted the hundreds of migrants right at the border. We are better than this, we have plenty to share and love and solidarity have no price.
Thank you

Today’s statement from Carlsbad Superintendent in regards to the homophic and transphobic statements made by a school administrator during a Church event. Among the many disturbing things he had shared he has literally blamed our community for the high su***de rates anong our youth. In his job he is in charge of keeping our students safe and keep the privacy around student’s gender identity and sexual orientation. He can’t do either and we are calling for his dismissal.

We are aware of, and looking into, a video that has been shared widely on social media in which an administrator in Carlsbad Unified School District makes comments about his belief that curriculum, clubs, and celebrations involving sexual orientat...
