A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to the International Students Program for inviting the APIDA ERG to host a table at this year’s celebration! 🙌🏽 This is exactly what cross-campus collaboration looks like — when we come together, we create spaces where students feel seen, valued, and celebrated. That kind of partnership matters more than words can say. 💛
The Year of the Fire Horse only comes once every 60 years — a rare, powerful, transformative energy that calls us toward bold action, community, and change. Sounds like US. 💪🏽

✨ What an Incredible Day with Jose Antonio Vargas! ✨
What a powerful way to end the week and launch our Spring semester! Last Friday, January 16th, our MiraCosta College community had the honor of hosting Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, filmmaker, and immigration justice advocate Jose Antonio Vargas for All College Day.

As we prepared to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy today, Mr. Vargas' message about justice, belonging, and the power of storytelling resonated deeply with Dr. King's vision of beloved community.

From his powerful presentation that challenged us to think deeply about belonging, identity, and what it truly means to be American, to the intimate VIP gathering where UPRISE and APIDA ERG members engaged in meaningful dialogue, every moment reminded us why this work matters.

The book signing was filled with joy, connection, and community—watching our students, faculty, and staff come together to celebrate storytelling and advocacy was everything. 📚💛

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, and to Jose for sharing your truth with us. Your words continue to inspire us to create spaces where ALL people are welcomed, seen, and valued.
