Parent Tip Tuesday: The Coat Flip Trick! 🧥✨
Raise your hand if getting coats on before school feels like a daily wrestling match.🙋♀️
We've got a game-changer for you: The Coat Flip!
Here's how it works:
🔹Step 1: Lay the coat flat on the floor with the hood near their feet, then have your child slide their arms into the sleeves
🔹Step 2: Have them lean forward, grab the collar, and flip the coat right up and over their head
That's it - coat on, no fuss!
This isn't just a cute trick, though. It's rooted in the Montessori philosophy of fostering independence in young children. When kids can dress themselves, it builds fine motor skills, coordination, and -maybe most importantly- confidence. There's nothing like watching a little one's face light up with pride when they exclaim " I did it!"
And the bonus for parents? Faster mornings, less stress at the door, and a much calmer start to the day for everyone.
Give it a try this week and tag us in your Coat Flip success stories - we'd love to see those proud little faces! 💚
Peppertree Montessori - where we believe every skill your child builds starts with the chance to try it themselves.
