In between capachinos, my island experience was filled with rock climbing (I’m hooked!)🧗♀️, walking🚶🏽♀️, riding 🚲, swimming 🏊🏽♀️in the yummy highly salted Mediterranean, breathing🧘🏽♂️, letting go, eating everything 🫒, singing & wandering (lost half the time, which sometimes ended up with me running🏃🏽♀️) through my ancestors land. The adorable little town with gorgeous surrounding mountains & waters, San Vito lo Capo (pic 5) was home base, specifically ❣️, who welcomed me into their eclectic, very clean home, & I really enjoyed connecting with everyone there. I also explored 🛥 Favignana😍, churches, wild historic ruins, & picked up a few Italian words. Sonti Doro! 💤
Grateful for this time alone to shed some heaviness of the past & rejuvenate my body, mind, & spirit in the beautiful present.🙏🏽
The visible strength of the Sicilian mountains was a surprising incredible view, that at times, reminded me of Catalina. The people of Sicily are warm & loud, like to enjoy life sunbathing near the sea through the long afternoons & then together, indulging in fresh, delicious food & wine late into the night.🍷 Despite me not speaking the language, I made my way around a bit of the island (transportation was a little challenging sooo I had to adjust my aggressive sightseeing desires & stick to one side). I mainly encountered warm smiles, used Spanish & charades, google translate, & just got this🤌🏾once in a while 😂. Allóra…Sicilia, I will be back! ♥️🇮🇹
