To Our Champion Eyes Family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Sensei and owner and founder of Champion eyes, Sensei Armando Ramirez.

There are no words that can truly express how much he meant to our Champion Eyes family. He was more than an instructor—he was a mentor, a leader, a friend, and an inspiration to so many. Through his patience, wisdom, and unwavering dedication, he helped shape the lives of countless students, both on and off the mats.

One of the things we will remember most about him was his incredible heart. He genuinely cared about every student who walked through our doors. He believed in people, often before they believed in themselves, and he had a special gift for helping others discover their confidence, strength, and potential. His lessons extended far beyond martial arts. He taught us about respect, discipline, perseverance, humility, kindness, and the importance of becoming better people every day.

Anyone who trained under him also witnessed the intensity and passion he had for the martial arts. He pursued excellence with everything he had, and because he cared so deeply, there were times when he became frustrated—or even upset—in his pursuit of perfection. He expected a great deal from himself and from those he taught, not because he wanted perfection for its own sake, but because he truly believed in what each of us was capable of becoming. That passion came from a place of love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to helping others reach their fullest potential. We understood that about him, and we loved and respected him all the more because of it.

His legacy will live on in every bow, every class, every belt earned, and every act of respect and compassion shown by our students. The values he instilled in this dojo have created a family, and that family will continue to honor him by carrying those values forward.

We are deeply grateful for everything he gave to Champion Eyes and to each of us personally. His impact cannot be measured by the number of students he taught, but by the countless lives he changed.

During this difficult time, we ask that you keep his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, Sensei, for your guidance, your generosity, your passion, and your unwavering belief in all of us. Thank you for challenging us to be better than we thought we could be. You have left an imprint on our hearts that will never fade.

Your spirit will always be a part of Champion Eyes.

With love, gratitude, and respect,

Champion Eyes Family 🙏❤️

P.S. As we move forward together, we want to reassure our Champion Eyes family that our commitment to our students and community remains stronger than ever. We will continue to honor Sensei Armando's vision by providing the same exceptional instruction, support, and family atmosphere that he worked so hard to create. The greatest tribute we can give him is to carry his legacy forward—continuing to grow, evolve, and positively impact lives for generations to come.

If the belt is the only thing that matters, motivation often disappears once it is achieved.

But if the real goal is knowledge, growth, and self improvement, training keeps meaning something long after the next belt is tied. 🥋

That is something we care about strongly at SRK Martial Arts.

We want students to enjoy gradings and celebrate progress, of course. But the deeper aim is bigger than colour changes around the waist.

Better habits, better standards, better understanding, better character.

That is the journey that keeps going.

We teach children, teens, and adults across South Ockendon, Grays, and Wickford.

Every karate journey begins with curiosity and grows through consistent effort. The white belt represents a student's willingness to learn, while the yellow belt builds a strong foundation in the basics. As training continues, the orange belt reflects steady improvement, and the green belt marks growing confidence in both technique and mindset. The blue belt symbolizes commitment, showing dedication to long-term progress, while the brown belt represents discipline developed through years of practice. Reaching black belt is not the end of the journey but the beginning of true mastery, where learning, self-improvement, and personal growth continue for a lifetime. 🥋🔥

1. Keep Your Guard Up
Every great karateka learns that defense comes before offense. Keeping your guard up protects you from unexpected attacks and teaches you to stay alert at all times.

2. Respect Your Instructor
Karate is built on respect. Listening to your instructor with humility helps you learn faster and honors the knowledge that has been passed down through generations.

3. Master Basics First
Strong fundamentals create strong martial artists. Before advanced techniques can work, your stances, punches, blocks, and kicks must become second nature.

4. Breathe With Every Technique
Power and control come from proper breathing. Learning when to exhale helps improve your speed, focus, endurance, and effectiveness.

5. Look Where You Strike
Accuracy is just as important as power. Keeping your eyes on the target improves timing, precision, and awareness during training and competition.

6. Balance Before Power
True strength starts with stability. A well-balanced karateka can generate more power, move more efficiently, and remain in control under pressure.

7. Control Your Emotions
Karate teaches mastery of the mind as well as the body. Staying calm allows you to make better decisions and respond wisely instead of reacting emotionally.

8. Train Both Sides
A complete martial artist develops the entire body. Practicing techniques on both sides improves coordination, balance, and overall effectiveness.

9. Never Stop Learning
The journey of karate has no finish line. Every training session offers a chance to improve, discover new lessons, and grow as a person.

10. Character Beats Skill
The highest goal of karate is not winning fights but building character. Respect, honesty, humility, and discipline are worth far more than physical ability alone.
