Did you know that November is Runaway & Homeless Youth Prevention Month?

California is the midst of a homelessness crisis and young people are, unfortunately, gravely impacted. They experience trauma, violence and exploitation while living on the streets; 29% report substance use problems, and 69% have mental health issues. Homelessness among youth is a complex issue that requires equally complex solutions, many of which are vastly different from those intended to serve adults experiencing homelessness.

5CHC has special programs for youths experiencing homelessness. With case managers specifically assigned to help youth receive new education, housing, employment, and benefits, 5CHC is able to support youth in overcoming the significant challenges they face.
