Happy first full week of the year! Our staff has been working tirelessly over the past few weeks getting ready for a successful year. Today marks our first full week and we celebrate our staff with Mr. Herrera’s WOOT WOOT WAGON. Have a great weekend!

Oceano Elementary School received a huge donation of 100 backpacks and $1,000 from our friends at Bank of the Sierra. We will be raffling the backpacks next week. We thank Bank of the Sierra and Mrs. Gonzales for helping us earn this grant.

🌟 WELCOME BACK, KENNEDY! 🌟

Please join us in welcoming Kennedy back to the Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County as our Oceano Unit Coordinator! 💙

Kennedy has studied Early Childhood Education and is working toward completing the first part of her degree, with plans to transfer to a university to earn her Bachelor’s degree. Her passion for working with youth comes from years of caring for and learning alongside her family—including growing up with eight siblings!

Kennedy is passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where young people can learn, grow, and be themselves. She was drawn to the Club because of our commitment to empowering and including all youth while building meaningful connections.

Outside of work, Kennedy enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking along the Central Coast, and building connections in her community. 🌊🥾❤️

We’re so excited to have Kennedy back at the Club and leading our Oceano team! We know she will continue to be a trusted mentor and positive role model for our Club Kids.

Music and PE are in full swing at Oceano! Our students were excited to meet their new music teachers and participate with our awesome PE team. Please remember that music is every Monday. PE is on every Tuesday and Wednesday. We ask that all students come PE prepared to participate and wear appropriate, closed toes shoes. Please, no Crocs on PE days to help with safety.

Today was Oceano Elementary’s first day of teacher prep, and our incredible staff is back and ready for an amazing school year!

We spent the day reconnecting, planning, learning, and preparing to DIG DEEPER for our students. This year, we’re challenging ourselves to dig deeper into our data, our instruction, our relationships, and most importantly—the unique strengths and potential of every Dolphin. 🐬💙

Just like paleontologists carefully uncover something extraordinary beneath the surface, our teachers are ready to help every student discover just how much they are capable of!
