27 Years of a Greyhound Tradition 🏌️‍♂️

The Hugh Pepper Memorial Golf Tournament is almost here, and this year we’re celebrating 27 years of a special Greyhound tradition.

The Ocean Springs Athletic Foundation Golf Tournament began in 1999 as the Coach Pepper Classic. After Coach Hugh Pepper’s passing, OSAF continued the tournament in his memory. Today, we proudly carry on that tradition through the Hugh Pepper Memorial Golf Tournament, now in its 9th year.

Coach Pepper left an incredible legacy in Ocean Springs. As head football coach of the Greyhounds, he earned 191 career wins and 12 Gulf Coast Conference championships. He was also an All-American football player at Southern Miss and is a member of the USM Hall of Fame and Legends Club.

On Saturday, August 15, we’ll gather at The Preserve Golf Club, which has proudly hosted our tournament for 20 years, to continue a tradition that brings our community together while supporting Ocean Springs student-athletes and athletic programs.

To every golfer, sponsor, business, and volunteer who has supported this tournament over the years, thank you for helping us carry on Coach Pepper’s legacy.

27 years of tradition. 20 years at The Preserve. 9 years honoring Coach Pepper’s memory. One commitment to Greyhound Athletics. 💙🤍🩶

Heads up, Greyhounds! When you’re renewing your car tag, don’t forget the OSSD vanity plate. A portion of each one goes straight to OSAF to support our student-athletes.

A small choice, a big impact. 💙
