✈️3 Airports, 3 Airspaces✈️

Flying on the Gulf Coast gives lots of differing flight opportunities, and you have the opportunity to fly in different airspaces. Here's where we flew and their airspace class!

🛫KGPT - Gulfport - Class D airspace - This airspace is special because their air traffic control center has a radar and are what we call a TRSA (Terminal Radar Service Area).

🛫5R2 - Ocean Springs - Class G airspace - This airspace is uncontrolled, with no tower. This is our home airport and is a fun little airport to fly in and out of.

🛫KPQL - Trent Lott - Class E airspace - Normally this is a Class D, but we flew when the tower was closed, so it reverts to a Class E airspace.

The runway number is the compass direction of the runway rounded to the nearest 10 degrees. That means that Runway 36 is pointed North at 360°! Pilots landing and departing from this runway will be flying North.

Whether you're 12 or 92, there's a pathway for you to become a pilot!

🛩To complete your sport pilot certificate, you must be at least 17 years old. You can begin training as early as you'd like and fly with an instructor until the age of 16 - when you can complete your first solo!

🛩As a sport pilot, a medical is not required, you just need a US Drivers license! It's a great way to learn to fly if you're not sure if you can pass a medical exam.
