To celebrate the 50th day of school, our preschool students and staff dressed up in 1950s attire. After lunch, they enjoyed a 1950s-themed party in the gym with 1950s music and root b**r floats! (Post 2 of 2)

Last night, our St. Alphonsus families came together to pray the Rosary during our Family Faith Night. After food and fellowship, students and their families, grouped by Faith House, gathered around the track to form a Living Rosary, where each Faith House prayed a decade of the Rosary. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!

We are excited to introduce the Whole Schools Quarterly, a special newsletter highlighting our journey as a Mississippi Arts Commission Whole School.

Each quarter, we will share a glimpse of the creative ways our teachers bring learning to life through arts integration, along with updates on our goals and continued growth as a Whole School.

We are so proud of the creativity and dedication of our teachers and students, and we look forward to sharing the wonderful things happening in our classrooms!
Enjoy our first edition of the Whole Schools Quarterly!

Today is the feast day of St. Teresa of Avila. She is the first female Doctor of the Church and the patron saint of Spain, sick people, and people in religious orders. Fr. Mike loaned our school a second-class relic and our students had a chance to see it up close and learn about this 16th century Spanish saint.

St. Teresa of Avila, pray for us!

Firefighters from the Ocean Springs Fire Department came to St. Alphonsus this morning and talked to students in Pre-K3 through 1st grade. Students learned about what firefighters do in our community and saw various tools and gear that are used to keep our community safe. Many thanks to Conner Harvard, Connor Pickich, and Jason Jones of the OSFD for visiting our school.
