Students in Mrs. Webb's and Mrs. Gena's 4th grade have been reading the book ππ’ππ¦π΄ π°π§ π’ ππ°πΆπ³π΅π© ππ³π’π₯π¦ ππ°π΅π©πͺπ―π¨ by Judy Blume. Every time they finish a set of chapters, they do a tableau for each one. Students stand still and, in silence, show a moment in the story, and their classmates attempt to determine the characters that they are acting out.

The Campus Ministry students had their first meeting of the year during this week's Enrichment Block. Over the course of the school year, Campus Ministry will engage in spiritual and corporal acts of mercy within our Ocean Springs community. They will pray for homebound parishioners, the priests and deacons of our diocese, the residents of Villa Maria, and our school community. They will also create bulletin boards, make cards for new families, and support our Faith House events and activities.

Mrs. Leddy and Mrs. Brenke's 6th graders have been learning about "Living vs Non-living." They learned about what constitutes living things and what differentiates them from things that are not alive. They looked through microscopes, analyzed what they saw, and made a determination. Many thanks to the 6th grade parents for providing the microscopes and gear used for this lesson.

After reading the story "The Great Puppy Invasion," Mrs. Hanley and Ms. Brown's 2nd graders were divided into three groups and each group painted a different part of the story. Each one of the groups illustrated the beginning, the middle, and the end of the story on a large wall canvas. This project encourages spatial awareness, development of the understanding of story structure, and greater comprehension of meaning and literary purpose.
