Today in Mrs.Drahos's AP African American Studies Class, students explored the Kingdom of Zimbabwe and the Great Enclosure, examining African innovation and architectural complexity. To better understand the planning, engineering, and collaboration required, students attempted to recreate the enclosure walls and granary using landscape stones—testing which “kingdoms” could truly withstand the test of time. A hands-on way to challenge myths and highlight African excellence in antiquity.

Students in Mrs. Drahos’s AP U.S. History Class are bringing the past to life—literally—by incubating and hatching baby chicks! This hands-on project connects America’s agrarian roots, Industrial Era innovations, and New Deal agricultural reforms to modern life. From Jefferson’s farmers to FDR’s recovery programs, we’re watching history—and new life—emerge right before our eyes!

APUSH went full 1860s! Costumes, big emotions, and Civil War letters and journals came alive as students performed a whole roster of characters, like Pompous Pete and Reverend Talley, debating the era’s biggest issues.
