Dr. O'Malley started Compass Educational Services LLC in 2012 in the Lutherville and Cockeysville area of Maryland. She has extensive experience in the field of general and special education. Dr. O'Malley specializes in learning disabilities and ADHD and provides consultative services, education advocacy, and evaluations to support the unique needs of students with learning differences. ey earned her doctorate in Applied Developmental Psychology at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Previously she was a general education teacher in an inclusive classroom, a test administrator for various educational research projects, Assessment Coordinator at Kennedy Krieger High School, the Project Director of School-Based Support Services at Kennedy Krieger Institute, and an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University's School of Education, Stevenson University's Department of Psychology and Notre Dame University of Maryland's School of Education. At present, she continues to be an educational consultant to review and monitor special education programs for compliance with COMAR at the Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School and the Lillie May Carroll Jackson Public Charter School. At the Dyslexia Tutoring Program in Baltimore, a free tutoring program for low-income children and adults with language-based reading difficulties, she continues to serve as a program evaluator to review the design, data collection and reporting methods for program effectiveness.
