Another great week is in the books at WOES! This week brought our Fall Picture Day, K–2 STAR PM1 ELA testing, our first Early Release Day of the year, and FAST PM1 ELA testing for our 4th and 5th graders!
We are so proud of our Thoroughbreds for continuing to work hard, learn our routines, and show us what it means to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe! 💙

It’s almost time! Per MCPS, parents and guardians are scheduled to receive their official Apptegy invitation on Tuesday, September 1st! 📲💙 Keep an eye on your email and text messages for your invitation! ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Apptegy uses the contact information associated with your student, so NOW is a great time to make sure your phone number and email address are correct and up to date in Skyward Family Access. Apptegy will be our new school-to-family communication platform, and we want to make sure every WOES family stays connected! 🐎📱

Everyday counts, but healthy students are happy learners! 💙 If your child is sick, please keep them home so they can rest, recover, and help keep our WOES family healthy. If your child is absent, please send a parent note or doctor’s note when they return. Notes should include your child’s full name, teacher’s name, date(s) of absence, reason for the absence, and a parent/guardian signature when applicable. 📝 Please send notes to school with your child so we can make sure their attendance record is updated. 🎉 WOES Friday Family Update 🎉

TWO FULL WEEKS DOWN! 💙🐎WOES Families, we did it! We have officially completed our first two full weeks of school! Our Thoroughbreds are settling into their routines, learning their way around, and getting back into the swing of school. Thank you to our families for your patience, support, and partnership as we start another great year at Winding Oaks! 🌳

📣 Staying Connected with WOES:
As a reminder, ClassDojo is no longer an approved communication platform for MCPS schools. Marion County Public Schools is transitioning districtwide to Apptegy, which will replace ClassDojo for school-to-home communication.

📲 Right now, our Apptegy communication is ONE-WAY only. This means WOES can send messages and updates to our families—like this Friday Family Update- but families cannot yet use Apptegy to message teachers or staff back. MCPS has shared that the new MCPS app is coming soon! Families should stay tuned for a text-message invitation to activate “Rooms,” which will provide the two-way communication feature within Apptegy.

⚠️ This is why having your current cell phone number AND email address listed in Skyward is so important! Please take a moment to make sure both are correct so you don't miss information or activation instructions as the district continues the rollout.
