Even with the rain, our families showed up and made it such a special evening! ☔️🌟 Thank you to everyone who came out to visit classrooms, connect with our staff, and kick off another great year with us.

📖 BOOK FAIR – Stop by the Media Center and check out all the great books available for our readers!

🍎 VISIT YOUR CHILD’S CLASSROOM – Our teachers are so excited to show you what your students have already started working on and share a glimpse of all the wonderful learning happening in their classrooms!

💚 GIRL SCOUTS – The Girl Scouts will be here to register future Scouts and share more about this exciting opportunity, they will be located in the Eagles Roost!

Bring the whole family and come join the fun! We can’t wait to see all of our 8th Street Eagles tomorrow! 🦅✨

📚✨ The Book Fair is in FULL SWING! ✨📚

Our students have been having so much fun browsing, choosing their next great read, and adding a little extra excitement to their school day! 📖💙

A BIG shout-out to our amazing volunteers who have given their time and energy to help make our Book Fair such a success! And a huge thank you to Mrs. Williams for all her hard work in coordinating the Book Fair. We truly appreciate you! 👏🦅

📣 Reminder: The Book Fair will be open for shopping tomorrow during Open House (5:30 PM - 6:30 PM)! Stop by, browse the selection, and find a new favorite book to take home! 📚❤️

What a wonderful first Early Release Day at Eighth Street! 🎉

A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Hampy and GeoTech for providing our staff with a delicious lunch! 🍽️ Your generosity helped make our day extra special, and we truly appreciate you thinking of our team. ❤️

After lunch, our staff had the opportunity to fellowship, connect, and spend some valuable time learning together.

We are grateful for our amazing staff, our supportive community, and partners like Geotech who help make days like this possible! 🙌

Hello, Eighth Street families!

I am reaching out with several reminders for the week.

First, our Book Fair will be on campus August 24 through August 28 in the Media Center.

We will also be administering Progress Monitoring
1. Testing dates vary by grade level, so please be sure to refer to the letter that was sent home for your child's specific testing dates.

Wednesday, August 26, is an Early Release Day. School will dismiss at 12:35 p.m.

Finally, we invite all of our families to join us for Open House on Thursday, August 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you on campus!

Congratulations, Mrs. Aderholt and Mrs. Hill! 🎉

We are so incredibly proud of our wonderful Mrs. Aderholt and Mrs. Hill for earning an EXCELLENT rating on their VPK program for the 2025–2026 school year! And not just excellent… they earned a PERFECT 100%! 💯👏

Thank you for always going above and beyond and for helping start our Eagles off on the strongest foot possible! We are so thankful for all you do, Mrs. Aderholt and Mrs. Hill!

Time to Renew Your Volunteer Registration!

We are so excited to welcome our amazing 8th Street Volunteers back for another school year! 💙

If you are planning to chaperone a field trip, volunteer for a class party, or volunteer at school, you must have an approved volunteer form on file for the current school year.

📝 Volunteer forms must be completed EVERY school year and do not carry over from previous years.

NEW: Level II Background Screening for Certain Volunteer Roles

As part of our district’s ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our students and staff, Level II background screenings are now required for certain volunteer roles.

Volunteers who will be supervising students off campus, including:

🚌 Field Trip Chaperones
🏆 Volunteer Coaches
👥 Other similar off-campus supervisory roles

will be required to complete a Level II background screening.

💳 Please note: There is a fee associated with the Level II screening, and this cost is the responsibility of the volunteer.

📌 If you are a chaperone who requires a Level II screening, please contact the Professional Practice Department for more information.

Please allow approximately one week for results to be returned, so we encourage anyone who plans to chaperone a field trip to complete this process as soon as possible!
