Sumter County Essential Support Personnel Sumter County Essential Support Personnel SCESP is the "Sumter County Essential Support Personnel"...what many would simply call the "Union".

However, SCESP includes our school systems ESPs ("Education Support Professionals"). These folks are secretaries, aides, translators, maintenance workers, etc. who work in our various schools. Our affiliations include the AFL-CIO, the AFT (American Federation of Teachers), the NEA (National Education Association), and FEA (Florida Education Association). We are organized along with surrounding cou

nties under the name United Uniserv which is under the FEA. We do bargain for non-union members, but do not represent them in legal matters.

I would like to take a minute of everyone's time to give a shout out to the backbones of all the ESE classrooms to our para- proffessionals. On behave of SCESP I want to say thank you for your dedication to your students. I know your jobs are not easy, but you show up everyday with compassion and love in your hearts for your kids. Again, thank you for your dedication to your profession.

Today is Education Staff Professionals Day, and we want to celebrate the unwavering dedication of the staff who help our schools run! 🎉

Our bus drivers, custodial staff, paraprofessionals, cafeteria workers, clerical workers, technical specialists, student service workers, and so many more are the unsung heroes of our campuses, and our schools are stronger because of you.

To all our education staff professionals: Thank you for your tireless work, your kindness, and your indispensable contributions to Florida’s public schools!

I would like to take a moment to tell all ESPs, that you are awesome. We as ESPs sometimes may not feel that we matter in the grand scheme of our careers, but know that you do matter. Our schools can't run without everyone, we all must work together for our children, and they are ours even when they go to different classrooms or higher grades. We all form relationships with our kids, some are stronger than others. Always remember that you not only have made a difference in at least 1 child's life, but you will continue to make changes with other kids throughout your career. Have a great ESP day tomorrow and a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break.
