Since 1958 Marion County Public Schools has hosted the Big Springs Regional STEM Fair (formerly Big Springs Regional Science Fair). Students compete either individually or in teams of up to 3 students in 13 categories representing both biological and physical science fields. From the regional fair, 32 projects qualify to advance to the Florida State Science and Engineering fair and up to 8 project

Congratulations to Briana S. who earned a $20,000 per year scholarship to Lehigh University, as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to Westlake University in China for a summer science experience recognizing her exceptional scientific achievement and global potential.

A huge congratulations to Delaney P who won 3rd place in her category!! At the International level this is amazing!! She also received a scholarship opportunity from FIT valued at over $60,000 per year.

In a historic first the Ying Scholar Grand Prize Traveling Trophy is in Marion County. Congratulations to Briana S. and BHS.

For the first time in Big Springs history the traveling trophy is coming to Marion County. Huge congratulations to Briana S. from BHS who is a Ying Best of Fair Scholar and 1st place winner from the State Science Fair. She will now move on to Internationals with our 2 other finalists.
