WHO IS THIS BOOK FOR?

I mentioned yesterday that Useful Mark was the #1 new release in “Teen and Young Adult Christian Mysteries and Thrillers” on Amazon. Very cool. I did not know my book would end up being categorized the way that it has.

Last summer, when I wrote it, I didn't fully intend on it being a youth book. Yes, the narrator is a sophomore in high school, but I don't see why that should limit this book to kids. A fifteen-year-old could tell a story that an adult is interested in. I believe there are other books with a teenage narrator (Catcher in the Rye and Lovely Bones, I think) that were written for adults. Also, I recently saw a version of the play ‘Into the Woods’ with a child narrator and I thought it worked as an adult play. I hope this book works in that regard as well.

However, my daughter read it last year when she was eleven, and she loved it! So, maybe you should buy it as a gift for your child or grandchild.

Now, that is a fairly narrow category (it looks like there are only 11 new releases in that category right now) but I am still happy for a #1 on any list.

Useful Mark also jumped to #33 in “Teen and Young Adult Detective Story eBooks” and #31 in “Teen & Young Adult Religious Fiction eBooks” and those are broader categories with a lot more competition.

MY NEWEST BOOK IS ABOUT TO BE RELEASED!
At some point, probably later this month, WordCrafts Press is going to release my latest book, 'Useful Mark.'

It is my first solo fiction book - about a 15-year old boy who solves an unsolved murder case. The publisher described it this way:
