As we wrap up our 65th Anniversary Celebration, my heart is overflowing with gratitude.

What a truly beautiful day it was. From the tiniest dancers taking the stage for the first time to our alumni returning to celebrate where it all began, every moment reminded me just how special this dance family is.

To my incredible teachers, Maria, Shannon, and Liz—thank you for your dedication, passion, and countless hours spent pouring into our dancers. Your love for these children shines through everything you do.

To our amazing volunteers, backstage helpers, student leaders, and recital staff—thank you for keeping the day running so smoothly. Events like this simply would not be possible without your servant hearts and willingness to jump in wherever needed.

A special thank you to our wonderful emcees, Sophia and Kathy, for helping guide us through such a memorable celebration with warmth, grace, and enthusiasm.

To our dance parents, thank you for trusting us with your children, supporting them through rehearsals, costumes, competitions, and performances, and for being such an important part of our studio family.

And to our dancers—you are the reason we do this. Thank you for sharing your gifts, your hard work, your smiles, and your love of dance with all of us. You made this celebration unforgettable.

A heartfelt thank you to our alumni who traveled near and far to come home and perform Rocky Top. Seeing generations of dancers together on stage was incredibly moving and a beautiful reminder of the legacy that has been built over the last 65 years.

One of the most special moments for me personally was being able to dance alongside my sons. Carrying on our Rocky Top tradition was something I will cherish forever. Those are memories that will stay with me for a lifetime.

Here’s to honoring the past, celebrating the present, and looking forward to all that God has in store for the future.

✨ Mentors in Motion Spotlight: Emma Robinson ✨

Emma is 15 years old and has been dancing for 10 years!

She assists in Mrs. Liz’s Mini Acrobatics class and Ms. Maria’s Mini Ballet & Tap class.

What Emma loves most about being a mentor is how uplifting it is. No matter what kind of day she’s having, stepping into the classroom and seeing the dancers’ smiles instantly brightens her spirit. 💫

This year, Emma learned that every child grows differently, and being a leader means learning how to encourage and teach each dancer in the way that helps them shine best. Her patience, kindness, and heart for others make such a beautiful impact on the next generation.

Her favorite dance style is Musical Theatre, and a fun fact about her is that her favorite musicals are Hamilton and both Frozen movies! 🎭❄️

One of Emma’s favorite quotes is:
“Don’t let someone dim your light because it’s shining in their eyes.” – Tracy Malone

Her advice to younger dancers:
“Dance for yourself. Don’t let outside talk dampen the light inside you. Stay focused on why you dance and let that fire burn inside you.” ✨

✨ Mentors in Motion Spotlight: Nalani Zimmerman ✨

Nalani is 12 years old and has been dancing for 8 years!

She assists in Ms. Lyla’s Preschool class, Mrs. Dianna’s Musical Theatre class, and Ms. Autumn’s Jazz class.

What Nalani loves most about being a mentor is encouraging younger dancers to dance from their hearts and follow their dreams. 💫

This year, she learned that some dancers simply need a little extra encouragement to grow confident in themselves and their abilities — a beautiful reminder of how impactful kindness and leadership can be.

Her favorite dance style is Jazz, and a fun fact about her is that she’s ambidextrous and absolutely loves koalas! 🐨

One of Nalani’s favorite Bible verses is Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”

Her advice to younger dancers: “No matter what happens today, the sun will always come out tomorrow.” ☀️

✨ Mentors in Motion Spotlight: Lyla Leeds ✨

Lyla is 16 years old and has been dancing for an amazing 10 years. 💫

She currently teaches 3 classes, including a pre-dance class and two tap classes. 💚

What Lyla loves most about being a mentor is helping her students perfect the skills they’ve been working so hard on and watching their growth throughout the season. Seeing all of their hard work shine on stage at recital brings her so much joy. 🫶

This year, Lyla learned that every dancer learns differently, which helped her grow in adaptability as a leader. She’s learned how to teach and encourage in ways that best support each individual student. ✨

Her favorite dance styles are Tap and Musical Theatre, and fun fact… she has 4 dogs named Marlee, Beau, Jake, and Stella, plus a hamster named Stanley. 🐶🐹

Her favorite quote:
💬 “Dancing is not about perfection, but rather a passionate, personal journey of joy and self-expression.”

And her advice to younger dancers:
✨ “Enjoy dancing and just have fun with it. Take chances and make memories!”
