🎬✨ Superintendent's Showcase with Dr. Danielle Brewer is back for a brand new school year!

What a way to kick off 2026-27! Our schools were filled with excitement, smiling faces, and endless possibilities as students returned for the first day of school. 📚💙

A huge THANK YOU to our teachers, administrators, support professionals, bus drivers, cafeteria teams, custodians, school resource officers, maintenance crews, district staff, and every employee who helped make the day a success. 🙌

🎶 Working 9 to 5… and celebrating 40 years! 🎉

As part of Shady Hill’s 40th Anniversary Week, students and staff danced along to Dolly Parton’s iconic hit while celebrating a legacy that extends far beyond the stage.

Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, thousands of children have discovered the joy of reading, including many right here in Marion County.

📚 From current students to staff members who once received books as children, her legacy continues to inspire generations of readers.

Congratulations to Oakcrest Elementary School for earning the MCPS Traveling Attendance Banner after achieving the most improved attendance among elementary schools in Quarter 4. 📚👏

Strong attendance helps students build connections and get the most out of every school day. It’s one of the many reasons FL families continue to choose public schools, where every child belongs, every student matters, and every classroom is led by certified educators.

A student was choking. One young Panther sprang into action. 💚🐾

Today, we’re celebrating Emily Estupinan, a 4th grader at Emerald Shores Elementary School, who received the Courage Award for demonstrating care, courage, and leadership when it mattered most. And on top of that, she's making Safety Patrol history as the first 4th grader to serve in the role! 🌟

We are proud of Emily for embodying the values that make the Panther community so special. 👏

🐎 We didn’t just take first place… we brought home the horse! 🏆

MCPS celebrated the unveiling of AMP, recognizing our first place finish in the Active Marion Project Local Leaders Step Challenge! 👟

Thank you to the Marion County Hospital District, the Marion Cultural Alliance, and artist Christopher Hershberger for creating such an incredible symbol of community wellness and friendly competition. 🏃

Thank you to everyone who helped us step our way to victory and make Marion County a little healthier along the way!

And to Ocala Police Department… thanks for keeping us on our toes. Literally. 😉🥈

🐎 A colorful start to learning! 📚

We are so thankful to The CEP's Equine Initiative Ocala, presented by Pyranha for providing nearly 20,000 Horse Capital Equine Industry Coloring Books to our youngest learners across MCPS. ❤️

The program officially kicked off today at Reddick-Collier Elementary School, where Pre-K through second-grade students were among the first to receive these fun, educational books celebrating Marion County's world-renowned equine industry!

Thank you for investing in our students and helping connect classroom learning to our community's rich heritage! 🐎✨
