Today, we honor and celebrate Mrs. Carrie Putzeys for her years of faithful service to the Cornerstone community. Long before stepping into the classroom, Mrs. Carrie was part of Cornerstone as the parent of three alumni. Over the years, she continued serving our school as a Junior Kindergarten teacher and Kindergarten assistant, caring for and encouraging countless young learners along the way. Mrs. Carrie’s kindness, gentle spirit, and heart for children have made a lasting impact on students, families, and fellow staff members alike. Whether welcoming little ones into the classroom, offering support to families, or simply sharing joy with those around her, she has been a meaningful part of the Cornerstone story.

We are so grateful for the love and dedication Mrs. Putzeys has poured into our community over the years and wish her every happiness in her retirement!

After 22 years at Cornerstone, we celebrate the retirement of Mrs. Lori Fuqua. Most recently serving as our beloved 2nd Grade teacher, Mrs. Fuqua has impacted generations of Cornerstone students throughout her time here. Through her patience, warmth, and care, Mrs. Fuqua helped shape not only young minds but also the heart of our school community. Her commitment to students and families has left a lasting legacy that will be felt for years to come.

Thank you, Mrs. Fuqua, for the countless ways you have invested in your students and served Cornerstone so faithfully. We wish you joy, rest, and many blessings in this next chapter!

First Grade Market Day was a huge success! During this exciting annual project, students created their own businesses, developed business plans, designed advertising posters, and sold their products at the market. This year’s creative products included bracelets, pencil buddies, cookies, slime, candy kabobs, drawings, keychains, paper airplanes, dog toys, and candles. Great job to our young entrepreneurs!

Our final Tribes meeting of the school year took place on Monday! After announcements from Mr. Peterson — including celebrating our Robotics teams earning two trophies at the Robofest International Competition and our rocket teams placing 27th and 30th at the American Rocketry Challenge — students practiced their Tribe chants for the upcoming Field Day, and participated in the official passing of the Tribes from our graduating 8th graders to our current 7th graders, who will serve as Tribe leaders next school year.
