🦃 MTC, LET'S FILL THOSE THANKSGIVING BASKETS!

Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, togetherness, and giving back—and once again, Marion Technical College is coming together to help make the holiday a little brighter for others!

Our Annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive is underway, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🧡

We're collecting nonperishable food items to help put together Thanksgiving baskets, and every contribution counts!

🥔 Instant mashed potatoes, rice, stuffing, and cornbread
🥫 Canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, broth, and gravy
🥧 Cake mixes, pie fillings, and other holiday dessert items

📅 Donations accepted through November 9
⏰ Drop off between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM

🎓 CONNECTING STUDENTS TO THEIR FUTURE!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming some counselors and representatives from high schools across Marion County to Marion Technical College for a special visit!

Our guests enjoyed lunch, heard from MTC Director Gary Smallridge and Counselor Kim Heitmuller, and toured our programs to get a firsthand look at the hands-on training and career opportunities available to students.

But some of the best perspectives came from our students themselves!

👏 Caitlyn Whitler from Welding Technology and Parker Foley from Nursing shared their experiences and gave our guests a look at what being an MTC student is really all about.

Events like this help strengthen the connection between our district high schools and MTC, giving the school staff the opportunity to see what's happening in our classrooms and labs so they can help students discover the many paths available after high school.

🍬🩻 A SWEET WAY TO LEARN RADIOLOGY!

Who says learning about electrical circuits can't be fun?

Our Marion Technical College Radiologic Technology students recently put a creative twist on their lessons by using CANDY to diagram X-ray circuits!

Understanding how X-ray equipment works is an important part of becoming a radiologic technologist. And sometimes, a little creativity can make a complicated concept easier to understand.

At MTC, we believe learning should be engaging, hands-on, and occasionally a little sweet! 🍭

Because when students can take a complex concept and make it their own, that's when learning really starts to stick.

For many of us, the pink ribbon represents someone we know—a family member, friend, coworker, survivor, or someone whose memory we continue to carry with us.

🔧 BIG MACHINES NEED BIG SKILLS.
Diesel-powered equipment helps keep our communities working—and skilled technicians are the people who keep that equipment moving.
In Marion Technical College’s Diesel Systems Technician 1 program, students get hands-on with the systems they’ll encounter in the real world, developing skills in diesel engines, electrical and electronic systems, fuel systems, brakes, diagnostics, repair, and more.
This is training for people who like to figure out how things work, solve problems, work with their hands, and see the results of what they can do.
Students also have the opportunity to prepare for industry-recognized ASE certifications while building the skills employers are looking for.
