OCOC has the goal of making outdoor activities more accessible to Oberlin students, which we strive to do through renting gear and running trips!

OCOC has a goal of making outdoor sports more accessible to Oberlin students. To realize this goal, we have two major functions: renting gear and organizing trips. The largest trips happen during Fall and Spring Break, but we also fund and organize weekend and day trips. Any student is eligible to participate in or lead a trip. We rent gear to students and faculty throughout the academic year.

Gear we have available to rent out: Sleeping bags + stuff sacks + sleeping bag liners, Sleeping pads/mats, 2 & 4-person tents, Backpacks, Spoons, bowls, containers, & other cooking utensils, Bungee cords, Hiking poles, Nalgenes, Portable propane stoves, First aid kits, Headlights, & other miscellaneous items.
* all gear rentals require a one-time $10 membership fee & a $20 deposit (which you get back upon returning the gear)
** we have a 'no questions asked' financial aid policy. if you are not able to pay our membership or trip fees, please chat with one of our officers 🙂
