Oberlin Dance is excited to welcome one of our new faculty members this fall, Mary-Elizabeth Fenn, Instructor of Ballet, who will be teaching DANC 113: Ballet I in the fall and DANC 312: Ballet III next spring.
With a rich background in both performance and choreography, Mary-Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience to our program. Previously, she performed leading roles across classical and contemporary ballet with Neos Dance Theatre, under the direction of Robert Wesner. In addition she served as a resident choreographer for the company, crafting over ten original works, including a full-length rendition of Cinderella. Her artistic journey also led her to New York City, where she spent two years freelancing while continuing to choreograph and perform with Neos. During her time in NYC, Mary-Elizabeth graced stages for various choreographers, imparted her knowledge through teaching, and founded her own dance company, Fenn & Company. Mary-Elizabeth holds an MFA in Contemporary Dance from Case Western Reserve University and a BFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
