WORKFORCE IN MOTION.
BUILDING SKILLS. POWERING FUTURES.
At LCJVS, the career-tech lab extends into workplaces across our region. Through Early Job Placement, students spend part of their school day working with local employers—applying their training, learning from experienced professionals and building pathways into their careers.
After three weeks of students on the job, our school-year totals are:
🔹 81 students on job placement
🔹 67 local employers
🔹 1,904 hours of work-based learning
These opportunities grow from relationships. Our career-tech instructors connect with local businesses, understand the skills employers need and help students take the next step from learning in the lab to contributing on the job.
This week, we’re highlighting South Shore Electric which employed four LCJVS students this summer: Troy Kaufman from Elyria City Schools, Josephine Kerez from Amherst Exempted Village Schools, Briana Kerns from Sheffield-Sheffield Lake CSD, and Ronald Flatt III from Midview Local School District. Together, they gained more than 2,000 hours of work experience, strengthening their technical skills and learning what it takes to work as part of a professional team.
