Our TRIO Pre-College Programs kicked off summer programming last week with College Readiness!
Students from Gilmer Upward Bound, Johnson Upward Bound, and Gainesville Educational Talent Search spent the week learning about college planning, financial literacy, and preparing for their futures. They also had the opportunity to explore a college campus through a college visit at the end of the week.
We are incredibly proud of these students for choosing to spend part of their summer investing in themselves and their future goals. Their commitment, curiosity, and dedication to success are inspiring, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish this summer and beyond!

Our Seniors had an amazing weekend celebrating all they’ve accomplished! 🎓✨ The weekend kicked off with Senior Celebrarion and was packed with unforgettable memories - exploring Georgia Tech, riding the Skyview Atlanta, walking through Centennial Olympic Park, visiting the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium, stuffing ourselves with cheesecake, and even though we didn’t beat the bomb… we still had an absolute blast! 💣😂 More than anything, we are so proud of these seniors and all they have accomplished. They represented themselves and TRIO so well and we can’t wait to see what their futures hold. ❤️🖤

Huge congratulations to our JUB Scholars Bowl team for bringing home 3rd place at the SAEOPP Regional Academic Competition this weekend🏆

While the trophy is exciting, we are even more proud of the way you represented yourselves, UNG, and TRIO with confidence, teamwork, and determination. Your hard work, knowledge, and sportsmanship truly stood out.

Our Upward Bound crew spent the day exploring North Georgia Technical College! 💡 Students learned about over 80 hands-on programs — from HVAC and cosmetology to horticulture and beyond. 🌱💇‍♀️🔧
We wrapped up the day with some fall fun at Jaemor Farms, enjoying the pumpkin patch and corn maze! 🎃🌽

Upward Bound students explored the outdoors during our Fall Break Retreat at Wahsega 4-H Camp in Dahlonega, GA. From studying stream ecology to conquering team-building challenges (including the Flying Squirrel!), our Screeching Owls, Boxed Turtles, and Honeybees showed incredible teamwork, curiosity, and courage. 🌿💛
