May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Farming is a stressful occupation that is associated with increased levels of anxiety and depression. Multiple studies show that farmer su***de rates are 2-5x higher than the national average. It is important to break the stigma around mental health challenges and encourage those struggling to reach out for help. To build a sustainable future for agriculture for our nation and our world, we must promote the wellbeing of our nation’s farmers and ranchers.
Oakley FFA Members put together around 100 care packages full of goodies to show their appreciation towards farmers and ranchers. Thank you Oakley Livestock Commission Company and Scoular - Winona/Monument/Oakley for letting us place them in your businesses. Additionally, special thank you to Foote Cattle Company & Mittens Travel Center for donating merchandise to add to the bags!
