We are a local family operated martial arts school that offers classes in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and conditioning. We cater to all ages and currently offer classes for children between the ages of 6-7 and 8+, teenagers and adults. Our classes range from beginner to advanced skill levels. Our goal is to teach practical and realistic self-defense as well as prepare for competition.

We had a great turn out at JJWL over the weekend. Every one of our competitors medaled. Will squires won gold at adult medium heavy blue. Kyle Bentancourt won silver for his debut at M1 middle purple. And Ryan Blakley won bronze in his adult super heavy white belt division. Kyle and Ryan finished opponents with cross chokes from the guard while Will put on a dominant performance in both of his matches with high scores and multiple submission attempts.

Last night, Kevin earned his purple belt. 💜🥋

There are promotions in Jiu-Jitsu that just hit differently — and purple belt is one of them.

It represents years of showing up. Thousands of rounds. Getting tapped. Learning. Growing. Working through the plateaus and the days when progress feels almost invisible.

A lot of people start Jiu-Jitsu. Far fewer stay long enough to reach this level.

And at Big Break, a belt is never given simply because enough time has passed.

When David promotes someone to the next belt, it means they have earned it — through their technique, consistency, character, and the way they carry themselves on and off the mats.

Kevin, you earned this one.
