Empathy, courage, tenacity, irreverence, reverence for mathematics and physics, and language, and at the heart of it all, this process of listening. If this reflects anything, it's just that you're only as good a musician as you are a human being.
The world doesn't need more good musicians; the world needs more good people.

Now is my own word:
Of course, having more good musicians is a wonderful thing. But the reason we bring our children to early childhood music classes is not to create future musicians.
We are helping to shape future human beings—children with empathy, courage, tenacity, curiosity, respect, and all the qualities that help them thrive in life. Through music, we nourish their hearts, minds, and spirits, giving them the tools to become compassionate, capable people who can make a positive difference in the world.
If some of them become great musicians one day, that's wonderful. But more importantly, we hope they become wonderful human beings.

我們是在協助塑造未來的人類, 讓他們擁有同理心、勇氣、毅力、好奇心、尊重，以及所有能幫助他們在人生中茁壯成長的特質。透過音樂，我們滋養下一代的心靈、思維與精神，賦予他們成為富有同理心、能力出眾的人，讓他們能為世界帶來正向的影響。

如果其中有些人有一天成為了偉大的音樂家，那當然很棒。但更重要的是，我們希望他們能成為對這個世界有貢獻的人。

World Music Family Time is an Early Start Music program that introduces children and families to music, songs, dances, and cultural traditions from around the world.

As a community music program at the heart of Early Start Music Center, it brings families together through shared musical experiences, fostering cultural awareness, creativity, and a love of music in a fun and welcoming environment.

This time, we are inviting a wonderful music educator from Brazil, Elinka Matusiak, the founder of BatuKatu. 😍😍😍

This post isn’t related to Chinese music, but it’s very close to Teacher Vita’s heart—because Teacher Vita’s daughter will be performing a marimba solo with the entire Orchestra! If you have time, I warmly invite parents to bring kiddos and enjoy this family-friendly orchestra perofrmance together. Come support us and share a wonderful music experience with your family.

You might know "Niu Niu" or "Felicia." 😘 She is Teacher Vita's daughter. If you know her, she’s the little girl you once knew, now grown into an incredible young marimba player.🥰 By the way, all the materials I created for Kids Go Mandarin were originally the materials I designed for Felicia. I just wanted her to learn Mandarin, so I started to make music for her.

Niu Niu’s first instrument was an Orff xylophone when she was just 3 years old. I never intended to train her to become a professional marimba player. In fact, I was the one who once dreamed of becoming a professional marimba player after joining an Orff course that completely changed my life.

Because of my love for the marimba, I think I quietly and gradually influenced my daughter, even though she never openly said she "loved it." But deep down, I know this Orff baby has music and marimba rooted in her heart and running through her blood.
Now, in her junior year, she is ready to spread her wings and step into her own journey as she performs her very first marimba solo with the Young People's Symphony Orchestra (YPSO).
