June 3, is Steve Sexton Day in Oakland! 🌳
🗓️ On this day in 2015, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf declared June 3rd “Steve Sexton Day” in the City of Oakland.
She recognized Steve’s strong leadership and impact on the lives of students and families.
Today we honor Lighthouse co-founder, the late Steve Sexton, whose memory burns brightly in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. As we live each day, facing challenges and decisions, choose to embrace life the way that Steve did: by saying “Yes.!”
“Yes” to serving others, to following our dreams, to living wholeheartedly.
“Yes” to nurturing relationships and to living the lives we’ve imagined.
“Yes” to cheering for the underdogs.
