Sometimes the most powerful career advice comes from simply being in the room.

SMASH alumni recently visited Pacific Gas and Electric Company Headquarters in Oakland for an exposure tour focused on career exploration, professional development, and connection.

Students had the opportunity to meet employees, hear firsthand about their career journeys, tour the workplace, and ask questions about navigating college, internships, and the transition into professional spaces.

The day wrapped with a LinkedIn workshop on pathways to PG&E and careers, helping scholars better understand how to build networks and position themselves for future opportunities.

Thank you to PG&E and the PG&E Foundation for welcoming our students and investing time in their growth. These experiences help make career pathways feel real.

There is something special about at UC Berkeley for the SMASH community.

This year, scholars and alumni came together on campus to reconnect, celebrate, and spend time in a place that represents possibility for so many. For alumni now in college, including some at Berkeley, it was a meaningful full-circle moment.

As we celebrate 25 years of SMASH, moments like this remind us that the impact goes far beyond the summer. It is about building a community that continues to support and show up for each other through every stage.
