Dewey Academy is deeply saddened by the passing of Kevin Ingersoll, Dewey Academy's Pathway pioneer and Art Teacher. Kevin Ingersoll embodied compassion, and kindness. Kevin was freehearted. Kevin never shied away from the "real talk". Kevin joined OUSD in 4/1997 and helped shape Dewey Academy into the pathway program we are today. Kevin will be missed everyday.
If you had any type of interaction with Kevin, you could feel his positive energy. Our hearts are broken by his passing. There will be a tribute to Kevin on Monday, January 31st @ 11:15am. We would love to hear stories from Kevin's students. Come join us!

Have questions about what happens to grades, graduation and academics during the COVID-19 school closures? Come get your questions answered by our Superintendent and OUSD staff.
You can submit academic questions in advance and get reminder to join us live. You can also just type them in the Zoom chat box or as a comment on Instagram during the session.
FYI: Both Zoom Q&A sessions will be recorded & posted on this page afterward.

Dewey Academy will be opening our doors on Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 9am-1pm. Students will be responsible for obtaining any work they need to make up from their teachers. We will also have APEX available. If students are here from 9a-1pm, they will receive a full days credit. If they are here less than 4 hours, they will only obtain credit for the time they attended. If your child has been absent 1 to 7 days, here is a great opportunity to ensure your students grade will not be affected.
