If you don’t understand why tech has a diversity problem, you won’t be able to understand how to fix it. The Kapor Center recently launched: http://www.LeakyTechPipeline.com, a new website tool that provides a framework to understand the problem and gives comprehensive solutions. These resources synthesize social science research and data on the barriers facing underrepresented groups in computing education, degree completion, the tech workforce, and tech entrepreneurship/VC.
These resources are intended to be used by multiple stakeholders (including tech industry leaders, diversity & inclusion practitioners, government, policymakers, philanthropy, and non-profits) to develop comprehensive and collaborative solutions that will move the needle on increasing diversity in tech--and realizing the full potential of individuals from all backgrounds to contribute to technological innovation.
Check it out and download the report for more information.
