Bill Mcallister
Please consider voting for Republican Bill McAllister for State School Board for District 3. There are many unstated positions on the issues from his opponent. Many citizens are unaware of the changes that have taken place in Nebraska within the NEGOP. How many of the endorsed NEGOP candidates have criticized public schools and home schooled their own children, this when 90% of our children are in public schools and half the counties, like Burt do not even have parochial schools. First, the Board is to be non-political, not supporting party platforms over what is best for ALL children. Check where opponents stand on school choice, including the addition of pushing for taxes to pay for private to home schools, banning books from the state taking away local control from determining which literature should not be in our schools. Our taxes should be used to support programs for all our children. I urge you to call or message to discuss issues that are behind the campaign and not centered on raising student scores when supporting choice that are not required to turn in scores or follow the same laws and guidelines that public schools are. Again, lets vote to support ALL children, also, rural K-12 schools would be represented by Bill versus his opponent. After decades of teaching and being involved on a state and national level presenting professional development and developing curriculum, I strongly support Bill and urge you to call family and friends in District 3. VOTE BILL FOR ALL CHILDREN.

Today, September 17th, is Constitution & Citizenship Day. Please share with all your students!!! Even our youngest are beginning to understand "rules" and "freedoms" as they mature. Visiting Constitution Hall knowing that our founders stood where you are standing brings awe at they task they accomplished.

Sign the petition so that Nebraskan's have the right to vote on this in November. Along with this is making sure the you vote for candidates running for education positions, especially for the Nebraska State School Board, support our rural public schools and are not supporting our tax dollars being given to schools that do not open their doors to ALL our children. Message if you have questions and would just like to visit!

Flood the Governor’s office with calls and messages to apologize to our elected school board members with plans to take away local control and have public schools run by the state since our boards don’t have the intellectual capacity to serve our schools. When calling, ask for staff choice so you have a HUMAN to talk to. You might also mention tax dollars now going directly for school choice, schools that would not let our son walk through the door or meet any of the regulations public schools are required to, from testing to welcoming ALL children. I should have put this in all caps to indicate I’m SHOUTING!

"Pillen said most school board members do not have a financial background, and coupled with a confusing state aid formula for schools, Nebraska “quit on our kids.” (Nebraska Examiner)

So we worry about the federal government taking over control of local schools??? Now it is the Governor who disparages our local school boards, elected by the citizens that understand the local needs of a school district and yes, have financial backgrounds. Oh, and while this is happening supporting allocating our taxes to school choice out of the general budget. We know the "now the end of the story" that these actions would take. Start calling your state senators and the Governor Pillen."

rural public schools and communities - PLEASE, just give a call and I will stop by with the petition for you to sign or answer any questions you might have

In Nebraska, 9 out of 10 students go to public schools. In past years, Nebraskans have voted against using public funds for private schools three times.
