Fairfield Fire Captain Francisco Trujillo was recently recognized by the Air Force Thunderbirds as a Hometown Hero. 🇺🇸
As part of that honor, he had the opportunity to fly with Thunderbird #8, Major Samuel Larson (“raZZ”). It was an unforgettable experience and a special recognition of his service to our community. If you heard some of the noise around Fairfield today, there’s a good chance he had something to do with it.
Congratulations to Captain Trujillo on this well-earned honor.

Baby twins rescued by bombero Martinez and the downtown crews last week. Great work by all the OFD crews on multiple rescues last week. This morning, Oakland Firefighters along with Sophia Akbar and her team at / came together to support the employees that were directly impacted and displaced by the recent three alarm fire in the 1700 block of Broadway. This is a full circle moment for our members today, several of which were involved with complex fire response and rescue of over a dozen people on the morning of January 19 (including the two twin babies pictured in this album). We are happy to report that the children and families are healthy and happily accepted some gifts for the children this morning in addition to financial support for the Go Fund Me account started by Sophia
Great work by all! Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort!

Last night OFD crews responded to a structure fire in a vacant warehouse at San Leandro St and 40th Ave. Engine 13 arrived on scene within minutes and reported heavy smoke and fire through the roof. Firefighters initially made an aggressive fire attack utilizing 2.5” hoselines into the interior of the building and knocked down the bulk of the fire within 20 minutes.

As part of the California Mass Mutual Aid System, the Oakland Fire Department along with agencies from across the Bay Area deployed multiple resources to assist in battling the fires in Southern California. Oakland Firefighters are always ready to assist our communities throughout California and our nation when called upon.
Special shoutout to our brothers from and the Altadena/Pasadena community for taking care of us with water, snacks, & restrooms during our deployment.
Our thoughts & prayers are with all the families and communities affected by these devastating fires.
