P.E. is a time of day that so many students look forward to. Coach V makes sure that our Rockets are set up for fun and engaging activities that build students’ gross motor skills, sportsmanship, athletic abilities, and social skills! All KDA Rockets get two 50 minute P.E. periods every week! 🚀 👟

Happy Monday, Rockets! 🚀 We are excited for another week of learning. KDA staff are All Systems GO for academics this year! Our 26-27 goal has four important parts:

🗺️ Navigation: Every student grows a full year in reading and math! (And maybe even more!)

🚀 Propulsion: All classrooms stay on pace with curriculum to guide our learning.

✨ Crew: Students come to school EVERY day. We know that good attendance = more learning!

💙 Support: All classrooms are welcoming and engaging with opening and closing circles to set the tone for each day.

We’re excited to share our growth with you as the year goes on!

All of our classes have science daily in the morning and get to explore plants and animals through hands-on lessons. 🚀 We are the future explorers and innovators!

At KDA, we know learning takes place both inside the classroom but also OUTSIDE! By taking students to real-life examples of what we’re learning about, we are able to make the learning more meaningful. This year we have many new and exciting field trips planned for our Rockets! 🚀 🚌

We are so excited to continue our partnership with Oakland Goes Outdoors to bring every class on a field trip focused on connecting to our local environment and amazing parks and even host our annual 5th grade camping trip! Additionally, through our SSC and TK partnership with Rotary Club of Oakland, we have prioritized funds to make sure all classes can visit additional places for learning like museums, zoos/aquariums, sporting events, urban gardens, and more! Be ready for adventure this year!
