Bringing the 4-Square Championship trophy back to KDA! 🏆

Last week our 4th and 5th graders had the unforgettable experience of kayaking in our own Bay! Students learned how to conquer their fear of the water, how to steer a kayak, and even got to see local wildlife like harbor seals who swam right by to check us out! 🦭

At KDA, we know that real learning takes place both in and outside of the classroom, and we make it a priority to get our students out into the community for hands-on experiential learning. DID SOMEONE SAY RJ DAY?! How about RJ WEEK?!

At KDA we do it BIG for !!!! Throughout the week our peer rj leaders facilitated circles across all grade levels, and hosted an AMAZING Spring Fest event on Wednesday where students and families made take home talking pieces, engaged in mural painting, face paint, circle games, and FUN! But that’s not all…RJ Day concluded with a TALENT SHOW and PIZZA PARTY. Let’s go

Today, our Ocean Guardians and leaders led an afternoon campus cleanup to honor Earth Day and take care of our planet. 🌎

TK had a very special visit this morning from Tucker the Turtle! 🐢 He is a character from a social story all about taking time to calm down when we are upset. TK got to practice each step with Tucker!

Our K–2 SCP and DHH classes had an unforgettable field trip to Dimond Park on this hot and sunny day! 🌿✨
In partnership with and , our students explored nature through hands-on learning, sensory experiences, and joyful discovery. From observing plants and wildlife to connecting with the sights, sounds, and textures of the creek, every moment was filled with curiosity and excitement.

We are so excited to announce the beginning of Infant and Toddler story time at the Stonehurst Library with Ms. Michaela! 🚀 📖 📚

Drop by the library after drop off for story time 8:35-8:50 every Tuesday and Thursday starting this week March 19.

Our students had a great time trying this month’s featured harvest…lettuce! Some took big crunchy bites, some tried it for the first time, and everyone got to explore new flavors together.

🥬 Did you know that Ancient Egyptians were some of the first people to grow lettuce thousands of years ago?

Trying new fruits and vegetables helps students discover foods they love and learn where their food comes from. Thank you for keeping our salad bar stocked! Interested in trying a new recipe with your child? Stop by our garden board by the front entrance!

Our TK through 2nd grade students had amazing days exploring Tilden Nature Area with They walked the trails, observed plants and animals, and practiced being curious scientists in nature. A favorite stop was the Little Farm, where students saw farm animals up close and even helped brush them.

Every month, students from TK-5th grade get to learn about and taste a new fruit or vegetable that has been grown locally in California! lessons help enhance our goal of providing a whole child learning experience for happy and healthy kids!
