Birthday party! 🎉 🎂

Please join us on Wednesday, June 10 for a celebration of our dojo's 2 year anniversary (close enough-actual date is May 1) and my birthday (actual). Class will start 30 minutes earlier than usual and will be followed by a small reception on the back patio. Please bring a snack or beverage to share! And if you don't do Aikido or can't make it to class, please come hang out with us afterward! ❤️🙏🏼🙇🏽‍♂️

Hello! In case you aren't aware, our indoor space is actually the office of an incredible nonprofit, . We are so grateful for their generosity in housing our nascent dojo and now we have a chance to give back!

CSS is putting on their annual Healing Hearts Day next weekend. The "main event" is a 5k around Lake Merritt, and there will be other movement options including Taiji and Yoga. Our dojo will be in attendance and we've set ourselves a fundraising goal of $1,000, all of which will go toward supporting CSS in providing vital mental health support services to our community.

O'Sensei wants to know: Have you gotten on the mat yet this week?

BREAKING NEWS: We're thrilled to announce that we're doubling our weekly class offerings!

In addition to our usual Monday and Tuesday evening classes at our location, Oakland Aikido members may now join the classes our instructors teach at Aikido of Berkeley (at no additional cost):

Mondays 12-1 taught by Evie Lynch
Saturdays 10-11:30 taught by César San Miguel

Additionally, Aikido of Berkeley members are welcome to join Oakland Aikido classes at no cost ☺️

We're thrilled to welcome Lia Suzuki Sensei to Oakland Aikido 😁 She's coming from LA to co-teach a seminar at Aikido of Berkeley alongside Kayla Feder Sensei and Kimberly Richardson Sensei Nov 1-3, but before she goes to Berkeley she's going to teach this special 2 hour class at our dojo on Halloween!
