If you have been touched by the Mills College Children’s School, please join us to celebrate and honor our 100 year legacy. For those who don’t already know, this centennial anniversary is also our final year. The Children’s School will close officially June 30th, 2026.

To go along with their cooking and community unit, K/1 students visited the Cheeseboard Collective Pizzeria in Berkeley. Students, guided by a professional baker, made their own pizzas, which they will later write about in a “how to” recipe cook. They also learned about how the Cheeseboard cooks for the community, and about the restaurants unique worker-owned and operated model. Everyone left with big smiles and full stomachs!

Our 4/5 students launched the year Studying body systems. Prior to diving into the science, they began looking at identity and getting to know oneself inside and out. Through an arts integration approach, students created bio poems and artistic representations of themselves. They proudly shared their results with their TK buddies today.

Friday assembly learning showcase. With great pride, 4th and 5th graders shared their amazing watercolor paintings of California landforms. These beautiful pieces included informational writing, using poetic devices.
