Greetings friends and family,
I am writing to ask your support for an important community center that the Sustainable Living Roadshow helped get started in 2011. PLACE recently was visited by the City of Oakland which identified numerous code violations that need to be corrected for us to continue serving the public with the maker spaces and educational workshops and classes at their community art and garden community center. They need help to pay for both structural improvements as well as some ongoing monthly support to cover the gap in earned income due to the decreased activity of programming during the next 9-12 months of making the upgrades. Please consider making either an ongoing monthly contribution or a single donation to support these necessary improvements, as well as sharing the fundraiser to friends.

Hey y'all. David Piller just lost all his tools and camping gear and personal items in the recent theft of his truck. They recovered the truck but all the stuff is gone. Please consider donating to this campaign to get him back on his feet and get some anti-theft equipment installed on his rig.

A Giving Tuesday REQUEST for the non-profit community center that the Sustainable Living Roadshow helped catalyze in 2011, PLACE for Sustainable Living. This month is our 9th anniversary and our center has suffered 75% loss of income since the shelter-in-place order was issued. We did receive a 45% rent reduction for April and May, but we still have over $3000 in monthly expenses. We had savings to cover 2 months of this deficit, but we will run out soon if we do not receive some support. Since the Shelter-In-Place order was recently extended and we did not receive any pandemic relief from the SBA or other grants we applied for, we are asking for our extended community to help us during this crucial time. Instead of a CSA, we are asking friends to please participate in our CSS, or Community Supported Space. Like listener supported radio, its community supported programming that comes from our center.
We have launched https://www.patreon.com/placecommunity to help grow a network of patrons to support our work. Despite being closed to the public, PLACE has been growing herbs, making medicines and distributing food and hygiene kits to seniors and immuno-compromised neighbors in our houseless communities. Additionally we are moving our educational classes to an online platform to continue spreading knowledge of resiliency, regeneration, and urban gardening.
Please consider becoming a monthly supporter thru Patreon, or consider teaching a class or participating in an online event with us. If interested in proposing an event or class, please go here- https://www.place.community/propose
If a one time donation is all you can do, you can either PayPal ([email protected]) or Venmo (-community). Thank you so much for sharing this around and pitching in how you are able.

Hey Friends, Here's an opportunity to explore somatic massage and donate to PLACE's campaign! Carly Ko has generously donated 3 sessions at $120 each! Give a gift to someone you know who would benefit to this healing session(s)!
An exciting new perk has been offered to our campaign!
A simple massage may relieve physical pain but the majority of physical pain is psychosomatic. Through deep intuition, is able to connect to your energetic body that often reveals areas that are weighing you down energetically, emotionally and physically.
Know someone who would benefit from a session? Maybe you yourself have been looking for a somatic therapist? Here's an opportunity to donate to our campaign while securing a massage session with Caryl, 3 available! https://place.community/donate

Please consider supporting this community art and ecology center that the Roadshow catalyzed back in 2011. PLACE for Sustainable Living has officially secured a multi-year lease through 2021, and are eager to invest in significant renovations to further root down and improve the safety and accessibility of the space. Some of the co-founders of the Roadshow are still active in managing PLACE.
We are asking for your help to raise $30,000 so that we can make our main event/workshop space ADA accessible and warm in the winter time and build out a multi-stall bathroom. These infrastructural changes will allow us to take PLACE to the next chapter and broaden our ability to serve our community. We've set up the fundraiser so that you can redeem your donation for tickets to events and workshops or for memberships to one of our maker-spaces.
So please, SHARE, DONATE, and LIKE so that we can take PLACE to the next chapter. Watch the video and learn more at:
