A.S.C.A.C. Western Region The Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC)

ASCAC culminated in 1984 with the first national meeting at Los Angeles Southwest Community College. Strong scholars from all over the country came together to form this umbrella organization designed to build African-centered study groups and further strengthen existing African institutions. This group gained the reputation as the clearing house for anyone researching African History because of i

ts heavy emphasis on academic scholarship. The original purpose of ASCAC was to provide African scholars a forum to develop a body of knowledge to contribute to the rescue, reconstruction, and restoration of African history and culture. With this came the intention to build African centered study groups within the local community to strengthen existing African-centered institutions on university campuses. Study groups have been a proven method to help the African Community learn of its origins from the greatness of Africa and her true story.

Baaba Heru (also known as Baba Heru Ankh Ra Semajh Se Ptah) is a Kemetic spiritual elder, teacher, and founder of the Shrine of Ptah. He is known for reconnecting people of African descent with ancient Egyptian (Kemet) spirituality, establishing a shrine for Maatian ethics, and promoting cultural pride and self-mastery. He is also the creator of JOYARI (jewelry).

We Mer, We Ankh, We Open The Way and Many things due to Baba Heru. May his Ba rest well in the abode of Ausar and that his Ab is light as the feather of Maat. Neb Ptah is pleased with him and the Kings-men he made that lives on his legacy and the many Priestesses and Priest that bear his Ankh.
