PBC provides financial literacy, college & career readiness, volunteering, and international travel.
The Pacific Bridge Club (PBC) was started in 2017 by Jonathan Guy, a Black social science teacher at Castlemont High School who saw the need for Black and Brown youth to travel the world as a way to sharpen their minds and shape our world through community service, college career readiness, leadership, STEM research, financial literacy and volunteering with endangered and mistreated communities. U
pon returning from international journeys, students share their experiences in K-12 classrooms to ignite change, traveling and culture building. PBC provides life changing experiences through traveling as a way to educate, stimulate, enrich and empower our youth so that they’re more adaptable and equipped to face life’s challenges and improve their situation. In a typical school week, PBC sharpens their skills by meeting after school, however since COVID-19, PBC meets once or twice a week on zoom. PBC’s the only 501c3 in East Oakland(the most unserved community in Oakland) that focuses on developing and taking inner city youth internationally and the best part is it’s free. Support our youth by donating and contributing to our young people and their high school experience.v
