Figuring out the information from our crime scene continues with PCR.

Day two of the SAW-Hellman Food justice lab exercise. Students looked at their experiments from Monday and linked what people could do to be safer with their food. We had a banana in different stages of decay and the kitchen sponge. I think we all agreed the kitchen sponge was the most gross!!! @ Mills College

Last day in the Bio lab today for our students. They got to run their PCRed DNA samples on gels to try and get some thoughts about who committed the crime in our forensics lab. @ Mills College

Tonight our Dean of Students and their partner (and puppy) opened their home to us for the evening. Our students mingled with the SAW students, ate some good food and got puppy love. :) @ Mills College

Last night SAW, our sibling program, and us went to see the Oakland As beat the Texas Rangers. Then we got treated to some spectacular fireworks. If you’ve never been get the seats high in the stadium. The best!! @ A's Game @ Oakland Coliseum

Last weekend we had the pleasure of hosting Liz and Alex. Both were Hellman students and then returned as Peer Assistants. Liz just completed her PhD in Immunology and Alex completed her masters a few years ago and teaches high School Chemistry.

Today we did blood sampling and then students took some time to test their own @ Mills College

It’s serious stuff in the lab even when it’s super hot outside!!
