Beautiful pieces from Sunday’s Saturday’s Enameling Taster . All the pieces lovely & unique. Tasters are not just a way to sample a taste of an art form or a mini class; they can also be a way to spend some wonderful quality time with friends or family, while learning something new, and creating together as was the case this Sunday being Mother’s Day.

Among the students in my class was a family of 3 parents & their 12 yr-old because ages 12 & up can take the class with an adult. Tasters also a nice gift for your friends, family, and, of course, yourself.

🔥 Ceramics X Glass Blowing Experiment
April 17, 2026

We got a little experimental in the studios—bringing Ceramics and Glass Blowing together to see what might happen when these two worlds collide.💥

Our staff and volunteers teamed up to kick things off in the clay studio, making everything from bowls and vases to sculptures and napkin rings. Once the pieces were heated in the raku kiln, the glass team jumped in and started playing. They blew glass into and around the ceramic forms, poured hot glass over them, and even pressed glass against the clay forms to create sculptures. No rules. Just a lot of “what if we try THIS??”

Not everything survived the heat, and quite a few pieces ended up cracking. But that didn’t matter. We learned a ton. Some of the coolest results came when the clay and glass didn’t fuse—like a glass vessel holding a tiny ceramic sculpture inside. Using clay as a mold for glass was also a win. Really beautiful stuff came out of that.

All in all, it was messy, surprising, and seriously fun to be part of—and we’re already looking forward to the next round.
