MY COMEDY SPECIAL DROPS AT 5 pm TODAY!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I wrote and performed this show "pre-apocalypse". I was afraid it would be too intense for my audience. But I did it anyway. Then the pandemic happened. And every day this show is more relevant than ever.
And it's been a journey to put it out there. I'm talking blood, sweat, tears, and confetti. (Artists, you know what I'm talkin about.)
😂 I KNOW: much of my fanfare about the comedy special dropping has the flavor of "getting views and likes and comments". 😂
Because I know you get what's underneath it all:
🌸 sharing a message of deep peace 🌸
SPOILER ALERT: the show is about being human - AND - the end of suffering.
The other piece I haven't mentioned much is that the show is very good. I hate to brag, so I'll let these folks do it:
Come see why Joshua said the show is “Hilarious, wise and awe-inspiring. Truly one of the most profound pieces of art I’ve ever seen! Legitimately one of the most hilarious enlightenments of my many lifetimes.”
And why Oshri raved “Powerful, vibrant, funny, meaningful. A heady blend of spiritual inspiration, earth wisdom, and comedy. My face hurt from laughing so much.”
And why Troy said, "I’ve never laughed so hard thinking about the deepest most confusing and most heartbreaking aspects of being human. You know that feeling when you see a really amazing band and it’s super tiny venue and you know that you are really lucky to be seeing them before they hit it big. I had that feeling last night."
"Are You Dressed for the Apocalypse??"
YouTube COMEDY SPECIAL PREMIERE PARTY TODAY!
TODAY - Sunday April 20 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET
What's a "watch party"? It's us all watching the show on Youtube, and chatting delightfully in the chat and comment sections! Please do "like" and comment to help the algorithm. I'll go live here on Facebook a while before the show too.
Love,
Alicia

We had two great shows this weekend at The Marsh with "Are You Dressed for The Apocalypse?"
One audience member said my show reminded him of (Emmy Winner) Alex Edelman, which I take as a high compliment.
Lots of other folks loved it too. (The word "brilliant" was bandied about. I'm not gonna argue with them.)
I'm having so much fun riffing and playing with you all - I don't want to stop, but... there are
🔥 Just TWO SHOWS LEFT in Berkeley this weekend. Come! 🔥

Last Sunday's show was so packed, we almost had to turn folks away...
I didn't expect the whole lot of ladies from Temple Isaiah to come, and I OVERSOLD the house by like 20 tickets. It was a pretty big freakout for a couple hours. But then as usual, just the right amount of people showed up at the door at the numbers worked out PERFECTLY.
And then, Steven opened for me with two BEAUTIFUL original songs he (and we) wrote. A nice little earnest contrast to my funny ha ha stuff. He MELTED all the hearts in the room and put everyone in a great space to laugh about the apocalypse.
It went so well, we decided to do it again!
SATURDAY at 8 pm! Join us for "Are You Dressed for the Apocalypse?" in Culver City!
We're coming down to the last 7 shows, so if you've been waiting... jump on in!

18 hours before my first show, my sound and light tech informed me she would not be available to do the run.
I don’t know a whole lot of theater tech folks here. Much less one available on short notice. Who will be affordable.
I called Steven, frustrated, freaked out, clueless about what to do. He always had great ideas for where to look and what to do. Especially being a native Angeleno.
I asked if he’d help me that night while I look for another tech to take her place. He said yes without hesitation. What I didn’t expect was what he said next.
“I’ll do the whole run for you.”
“Wait, you’re going to show up to all of my 15 shows and do the tech??”
“Yes.”
“Oh my God!! I can’t believe it! Thank you!!!”
This guy is my hero. he rearranged his schedule, he learned the complicated light and sound system in 45 minutes, we rehearsed it a bunch before the show, and he has been improving it every night since we opened in June.
He becomes half an hour before the show, we test the mic, we rehearse with the opener, he knows the sound of lights and supports me physically and emotionally before I get on stage, which is an absolute dream, and once I start the show, he takes a bunch of pictures of me so I can post them.
And if you think I would expect him to watch the 75 minute show 15 more times, you would be silly. I release him, and then he zoom home 10 minutes away. (Good thing I found a theater close to his house.) And then I come hug him after the show. Knowing he’s there for me after gives me such a sense of comfort and grace.
A couple days ago, I came to him again.
“I don’t have an opener for this Sunday… could you open for me? Play some music?”
Well, he said yes!
So this Sunday is a special show… Steven is playing two original songs (which are amazing and beautiful, one of which I co-wrote the lyrics to).
(I’ve also had the vision of co-creating an ending with him that involves compost. More on that possibly in the future…)
Join us for this special show Sunday at 6 pm in Culver City for “Are You Dressed for the Apocalypse?”!

Two fantastic shows in the Bay Area the past two nights!!
I did a gig for a friend’s birthday party and it was SO FUN. So memorable and magical. And I got so well paid! Perfect audience! More please 🥰
And then I figured, let’s do a totally different show the next night and just have it be a gathering of friends and invite people to come for free. Took so little energy to organize and people we so nourished by the comedy!
I can’t wait for tomorrow night’s show in LA!! (June 18th)
Let’s keep this train rolling… send your LA friends out to see me, ok? Link below.
