It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Coach John Beam, who was tragically shot in Oakland on Thursday and passed away on Friday. Coach Beam was more than a coach — he was a mentor, leader, and cornerstone of the Skyline community for decades. His impact on our students and our school will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his guidance and generosity.

Rest in peace, Coach Beam.

The Class of 1992’s “30+1 Reunion” will be held at the Torch Lounge on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $120 per person.

The private Rooftop event will host music, a hearty food buffet, drinks, dancing, and live entertainment! Security will be on-site; no one will be allowed into the venue, not on the VIP list. It is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets to enjoy the immersive experience we are putting together.

We will have a tribute video to honor those no longer with us. In addition, we will have a slideshow with throwback pictures from high school, along with the 10 & 20-year class reunions. Please share any pictures that you would like included and send them to our class email address at [email protected]

The final deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, August 31, 2023. We will only have a reunion if we sell at least 71 tickets. As with any event, contracts need to be signed, and dates need to be secured, so we must meet this deadline to ensure that we have our class reunion this year.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) will be posted here and on our class reunion website. The FAQs will have the address of the venue, payment options, and more details. Please share this as we want to spread the word so we can fully participate. We are in the final stages of refreshing the class reunion website, so be on the lookout for those updates in the next few days.

We appreciate all of the feedback provided and hope to make the 30+1 Class Reunion an event that will go down in the books as the best one held in 2023. No shade to the other classes; just saying.

Class of 1983 just found out that our classmate Lloyd French passed away on December 29th of last year. Here is a great article about Llyod. May he rest in peace.

On December 29, 2022, sadly one of the founders of Hawaiʻi Space Flight Laboratory (HSFL) and a great friend of Luke Flynn, Lloyd French, has unfortunately passed away. For those of you who don't know Lloyd, he was a JPL engineer with over 15-years of experience testing instruments and spacecraft a...

Day two of the Oakland teachers strike with little progress being made to end it. Each side pointing the finger with much confusion about why they haven't returned to the bargaining table. "We don't want a strike, but they've left the table and they've broken discussions, not us."
