Please welcome our new Development Director, Kelly DeJean, to the Reading Partners team! We're thrilled to have her on board and excited to explore new development strategies under her expertise! Keep reading below to learn more about Kelly! 🌟

Kelly DeJean joined Reading Partners in August 2026. She is a development and partnerships leader with more than a decade of experience building relationships and resources that help mission-driven organizations grow their reach and impact. As Development Director for Reading Partners in the San Francisco Bay Area, she works across philanthropy, corporate and community partnerships, and institutional giving to advance equitable access to literacy support and help more students build the foundational reading skills they need to thrive.

With a background spanning education, public health, and social impact, Kelly brings a relationship-first, cross-sector approach to her work—connecting donors, partners, community leaders, and organizations around shared goals and sustainable solutions. She holds a Master of Health Administration and is deeply committed to expanding opportunity for all children and all communities.

Congratulations to our AmeriCorps volunteers, Gretchen and Desirae, for officially kicking off tutoring at Laurel Elementary today! A huge shoutout to all of the AmeriCorps volunteers, tutors, and school staff who helped make this possible.

Earlier this month, we welcomed our 2026-27 cohort of AmeriCorps volunteers to Camp RPAO! 🏕️

Since then, we've done countless trainings and teambuilders, canvassed across San Francisco, and started prepping our reading centers for launch! We can't wait to meet our students and tutors as we prepare to launch programming in the next few weeks 💙

We're so incredibly grateful and buzzing with excitement after last night! A massive thank you to the Golden State Valkyries and OLLY for welcoming Reading Partners to Back to School Night for an absolute dream experience!

Our team, along with the amazing Lincoln Elementary students and staff, got to experience the energy courtside during the pre-game shootaround, then cheered on as the Golden State Valkyries battled the Dallas Wings. The highlight of the night was watching those incredible students take the court at halftime for their own scrimmage!

Thank you to every organization that made this incredible evening possible.

And huge, heartfelt congratulations to the Valkyries on being selected to host the 2027 WNBA All-Star Game! It’s an honor for the Bay Area and such a well-deserved moment for this powerhouse franchise! We can’t wait to watch the Valks shine in the playoffs and beyond.
