Oakland School for the Arts OSA is a public charter school which offers immersive arts programming & comprehensive academics.

Oakland School for the Arts is a public charter school in the Oakland Unified School District that opened its doors in 2002 with a mission to offer immersive arts experiences in a college preparatory setting. The school curriculum revolves around the concept of integration, both between academic subjects and with the arts. OSA currently serves 780 students in grades 6-12 with a student:faculty ratio of 10:1.

The inaugural OSA Story Wednesday elective is in full swing 🎊 our middle school & high school students are working hard to prepare and plan for the year book & capturing a time capsule that signifies our last 25 years and the next 25 years to come ⭐️

As we close out this month, we want to extend an immense thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us on 8/19.

We still aren’t over it 🥰

That day marked a monumental moment for OSA as we celebrate 25 years of open doors and the unveiling of OSA Way. May the arts always be accessible. May we create the world we wish to see. May we continue uplift, value, and honor ⭐️

Last night was phenomenal ⚾️ Thank you to Oakland Ballers for hosting us at last nights game! It was so beautiful to have all the families together enjoying themselves.

The game was energetic as we won 17-5! With an array of performances and games — students of all ages and pathways had a chance to show their Oakland pride and spirit! We can’t wait for the next game.

Also a huge shout out to our OSA alumni Adrian Marcel and Jwalt coming thru and blessing us with immaculate vibes! 🎊

There are no words that suffice the gratitude we feel for the LeRoy Neiman Foundation and Good Tidings Foundation revitalizing our OaklandSchoolForTheArts-Visual space in the Dufwin 🫟 thank you thank you thank you!

It is because of donors, sponsors, supporters, and partners such as the LeRoy Neiman Foundation we have the opportunity to provide beautified art spaces to our Oakland youth and families.

Thank you to all of our community who came out to celebrate with us at the studio ribbon cutting as well as our street unveiling! We have so much work to do this year for our students and families— we know we can’t do it alone.
